I haven’t seen one of these offered in quite some time… this is the large sized “M’CARTY & TORREYSON / MANUFACTURERS / WELLSBURG, VA.” – SUNBURST, listed in McKearin as a GIX-49, produced at the McCarty & Torreyson Glass Works, Wellsburg, Virginia, ca. 1840s. This one is a light bluish green colored quart, open pontil scarred base, and rough sheared lip. This has to be one of the strongest embossing you will see on this flask… really nice. The color is a light blue green, and certainly better than a deep aqua. There is the very slightest haze, and an extremely shallow tiny side lip flake, probably when manufactured. This is a GOOD flask!!
